Day 3
Big day this one. Muscles are tired and needed a good stretch. Thanked god for every step for the training I had done. Sixteen km day today but after the first hour and a half climbing to the second pass at 3,900 m we proceeded through a more undulating path that the Incans had made through tunnels and forest that were worth stopping to look at. Long day.
Weary but happy with a 7 am start and a 5.30pm finish with only an hour for lunch.
Many Incan sites on the way here. All of us are in bliss when we find out there are hot showers and wine and beer to be had for a price at this campsite. Had no soap but water was good. The clothes are a little worse for wear but we are all in same boat.
It was a hot night sleeping here as lower altitude at Winay Wayna 2,650m. Happy hour then tea and early to bed for a very early last day.
