Day 2
This was the day we were all apprehensive about.

We set off for the day at 7am at 3300m above sea level and would climb to 4,200m as we trekked over the first pass known as the Dead Woman-s Pass. The first part of this day is all uphill. Steep inclines and many steps tested our endurance along with the altitude and its thinner air making our breathing harder. It was really a day of putting one foot in front of the other as just getting to the next curve or incline was the only way to go. GO slow was also the only way. Four hours of uphill about 8 kms to reach the pass is the rule here but we did it in slightly less as we missed the first pitstop by accident. The view was fantastic and the excitement to get to the top was awesome with high fives and cheering all round. Time for photos. We All Made It. Anzacs together we did it
Time to catch our breath take photos and head on down to next campsite. For me this was even harder as it was
all downhill with many steps too many to count, some enormous, some small. Full concentration was needed. Thank god we had a trekking pole or it would have been even harder on the legs. When we stopped our legs started shaking. Just had to keep plugging away. I felt like the camp would never appear and an altitude headache had manifested itself. We were all so exhausted we just flopped into our tents with our boots off. Lunch was here at 2pm but all we wanted to do was rest. Afternoon off was well needed. Toilets here were cleaner and more plentiful but the situation deteriorated as more trekkers arrived. Thank god day 2 is over we thought along with how great that we achieved it. All I could see was the path out of there leading straight up to the next pass for the following day. Oh my aching muscles and head. Definitely an early night.
