Back To The Beach
The view from our hostel. We had a pretty big room and a nice balcony but NO WATER haha Mancora
We left the bus station in Loja at 10pm, bound for the Peruvian boarder. We ran into this guy who turned out to be from Whiterock! It was so cool. We were talking about the mainland and I dropper a few names to see if he knew some people that I did. He didn't hahaha
Anyways we jumped on the bus and ended up at the border at around 2am. It went smoothly and we got through without any problems. The only strange thing was when we got to the Peruvian side of the bridge (because we had to walk across it to the Peruvian office) there were about 80 chickens on the road, tied up and for sale! You could buy one, or a bag full of them. It was a crazy site, seeing full burlap sacks of live chickens haha!
So after the boarder crossing Me, Miguel, Geoff and Kelly were on our way to one of the most popular beach cities in Peru called Mancora. The bus ride was long and Geoff had diarrhea so he was not a happy guy! I was fine though 😉 …. I had to drop that little

Looking the other way tidbit about Geoff cause he ended up jacking my headphones. Anyways, by the time we made it to the city, it was bright and sunny. PERFECT! This guy driving a little tuk-tuk sold us on staying at this hostel called Moncoral which turned out to be really nice. The only problem was it was pretty far away from town. Also, we ended up without water for a bit until we refused to pay our bill for our breakfast. After they saw we weren’t dumb gringos, they turned our water back on. I guess Mancora has a water shortage problem and you can only get water at certain parts of the day…a point the owner neglected to mention while he was selling us on staying there.
Day one was spent pretty much just catching up on lost sleep. Later that night we went to town to check it out. It was pretty dead surprisingly. We found out quickly that Mancora offers the most delicious seafood in Peru. The fried fish was deadly…it didn’t matter where you got it from.
Day two was by far one of the funnest days I’ve had on my trip so far. Geoff and I

Getting our look prepped for the ride saw some motorcycles for rent so we didn’t shut up until Miguel and Kelly agreed to rent a few for the day. Since we were going to be rollin on hogs, we felt it necessary to shave a handle bar moustache on our faces! We looked like idiots but it was all good cause we had a good laugh at people looking at us hahahaha.
We went North because our book said that there was a little town about 20 miles up the road. We strapped on our gear and bounced. On the ride up, there was some beautiful landscape to see! Also, there looked like there was a lot of cool trails that we could explore so I kept telling Miguel (who was on the back of my bike) that we should go exploring. He kept saying no and to stay on the road so I was like whatever…I’ll go when he doesn’t expect it haha. So I saw this really cool looking trail, and turned off the road to go to it. I was going pretty fast and hit a small patch of sand and we BAILED HARD! Both me and Miguel ate dirt and rocks. He

Getting our look prepped for the ride was PISSED hahahaha. I felt bad but I got the worst of it so I didn’t feel that bad haha. We got back on the bikes and kept going…Miguel was silent pretty much all the way to town lol. But we got to our destination and washed the cuts and scrapes in the ocean. Then we laughed it up over a beer. (just what we need after dumping a motorcycle…beer eh? Haha)
We chilled in the town for a bit then took off towards some thermal baths that were close by but expensive to get to by taxi. Since we had our own rides we decided to check it out. It was cool but on the way there I dumped the bike again hahahaha. The best thing about it though was that it was caught on video because me and Geoff left Kelly and Miguel for a minute to explore and they waited. When we were coming back towards them Miguel started filming and when I slowed down in front of him I bailed. It’s a funny ass video and we’ve shown everyone we’ve met haha. I’m going to post it here soon so you can see me looking

Getting our look prepped for the ride like an ass lol.
By the time we dropped the bikes off mine was broken in like 5 different places…but it was dark so the guy couldn’t see. I’d hate to see his face in the morning!
The next night we just got a pizza and lounged on the rooftop terrace of our hostel. It was very chill because we could here the waves crashing and it was a clear night so the stars were vibrant. HEY! The constalations are upside down here...weird eh? Cassiopia is a huge "M" and the big dipper looks like a wiggers baseball cap lol
So all in all, Mancora is a pretty cool place. I thought it was going to be more of a party town but it was very chill which was nice. Our next stop is Chiclayo which is about 7 hours away and apparently has some great ruins and history. So, back on the bus, and down the coast of Peru!
Ciao for now and keep the comments coming! Extrańo mucho, hablas me en cualquier momento mi amigos, amigas y familia
