After a really long day of travelling Sunday, i arrived safely in Lima,<br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" /><br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" /><br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" /><br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />As i entered Project Peru´s refuge i was greeted by over 50 children of all <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />ages. Presented with banners and many hugs, everybody introduced themselves. <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />It was an extroadinary moment. The refuge is a beautiful place, a place <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />where any child in Peru would benefit. With great dining facilities, nice <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />garden, dormitories and their own football pitch. Everyone has been <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />charming.<br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" /><br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />Unfortunately the cargo is yet to arrive. It should be here Wednesday. Today <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />i was shown around Las Laderas, a shanty town of Lima. Somewhere i will be <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />spending a lot of time coaching football. Two ladies called Rosa and Maria <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />showed me everything. Mile upon mile of slum, where thousands of people live <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />in poverty, with only the necessities. Homes that could only be the <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />size of a garden shed scattered the desert mountains. However with help of <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />project peru many homes have been built, schools for the disabled and soup <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />kitchens. It made me more excited about the prospect of coaching football to <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />as many children here as possible. I was told it was too dangerous to take <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />my camera, but i hope to post pictures soon.<br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" /><br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />I have yet to be here 24 hours, but my eyes are already open to such a <br style="color: font-family: monospace; line-height: normal;" />different world.
