spent the week hopping around being looked after by maga and family, on monday i had my big toe nail removed by the cheapest doctor i could find, it was going to hurt no matter who i sore, it turned out to be quite entertaining, any way im glade its gone, and healing fast, it gave me the chance to sit and rest and relax a bit, watching some dvds and going to the cafes,
we planed a trip to south beach on a day that seemed to be as clear as a bell, but once we got on the highway a thick sea spray came over and reduced visability to 50feet none the less. and at the beach you couldnt see the next wave coming was really funny, it still maintained 27degrese though.
on the weekend we packed the car and tevelled down south, stopping at some great beaches on the way, my bandage finnaly ripped off the flesh where my nail was while swiming, the water was clear but the sand was like dirt, really cool all the same.
off to Pisco then Paracas and Ica buy night where we stayed . we woke up to
breakfast, swim in the pool and a giant sand dune standing over us,
i had been waiting for this since we arrived, it was time for dune buggies and sand boards, it was off to huacachina, an amazing oasis in the middle of desert, we jumped in the meanest looking buggie and went on a ride of a lifetime, once at the top the sand boards where pulled out, waxed up, strapped on and down we went at a freighting speed, too much fun,
on the way home we ventured in to the national park, unlike at home, there wasnt much park, mostly sand, but where the sand and dunes met the ocean was beautiful, looking out across the bay the dunes rose in to the sky. a small fishing village, mostly restraunts, waited for us and dident dissapoint the fish was fresh and cooked home stlye. the food over here has been a whole other adventure, and this was one high light.
we travelled home though wine country and picked up some pisco in Pisco, had dinner in Asia of roast chicken and salad and got home safely.
it had been a couple of weeks since
i had flown down a hill at breakneck speeds on my board so late sunday night well earlly monday morning maga and i headed to cerro de la molina to meet the best long boarders in peru, Cesear and his mate they where very welcoming, we had a quik chat, drink and smoke then suited up for the most loved hill in lima,
the road is 4 lanes wide and super smooth it also happens to be extreamly well lit for night riding,
it was fast and tecknical, a hard right turn at the top catapulted you into a long left pushing the 90km/h limit, the bottom well the whole track was like a race couse, i bombed it 5 or 6 times and had a go on one of the home made boards that where present ,Kamakasi, i might end up bringing one of these home.
we also got to talk to this guy Pablo who owns a skate shop and really keen on the whole scene.
was a great night and a great release for me, there not much better.
