ours last week with kai and we jetted off to cusco, the flight just over an hour took us a world away, the landing was hand crushing, trust me, maga didnt enjoy landing between and over mountains at all, we where greeted at the airport by freinds of the family, they picked us up took us home where we enjoyrd lunch. the youngest child Maria was gorgeous she couldnt stop laughing at my hair and telling jokes in spanish, the son was kind, polite, respected his parents and was a eal gentalmen for a 15yr old. we left our bags there and headed on a guided tour by the son though cusco on seach of the cheapests funest packpacker, its the quiet season so we picked one up for 4BUCKS A NIGHT, everywhere we went we ... read more

after settling in to lima , enjoying the food and meeting family and freinds it was time to journey up the mountains for a good 6 hours,(the same distance in australia would take 8-9 hours) the trip was amazing, leaving the dry sprawling land scape of lima and constantly climbing up hill, every bend in the road brought a new breathtaking scene, graduly getting greener and colder, a train line above follows the path of the road so does a river below in the gorge, we eventually reach 4000+ metres above sea at mt ticlio, when we start our journey down the other side of the Andes, the mountain lakes at this hight are beautiful and deep blue.our driver ,magas unkle Jovito , took the time to get us safely to our destination! we made it. its taken 2 days to get over the epic flight here, all went well with 1 stop over in aukland then a 11 hour flight squashed in the centre of the plane to buenos aires where we waited for 10 hours for kinecting flight to Chilli 1 1/2hour, we could smoke inside, sleep under seats, eat dodgy food, so we never went outside, was amazing take off at night time the lights of the city went as far as the horizon, another 5 hour wait and it was dawn on the edge of the Andes, the girls got some shut eye and breakfast in the only open restrante of a deserted chillian airport at 2 am. kari and maga were starting to feel the fatigue but i was just getting more excited and ... read more
