We had been umming and arring about flying over the Nasca lines for a few weeks ever since we heard it was only 35usd. When we got there it was actually 50usd (high season for once!). After more diliberation we decided to go for it ..... we are only here once and all that. It was a bit rubbish really, no wow factor. The best thing about it was the plane ride. However, im sure the girl sitting behind me would beg to differ ...... she was sick from the moment we took off until the moment we landed! Basically, everything in South America has been far better than we'd expected. Nasca wasn't. Just a few white lines scribbled on the floor. (I do hate to say I told you so!!)

Haucachina next, which is a small oasis in the middle of giant sand dunes. Yes, a real oasis!! We arrived there and found an amazing place to stay (El Haucachinero). We saw the swimming pool, felt the sun and immediately realised that we would be there longer than the planned 1 night! In fact, it turned into 5 nights! We got a tan, gave sandboarding a good try in

the dunes and generally did nothing for 5 days. A holiday within a holiday!

When we first went out into the dunes. Lynny announced that she felt something go up and into her trousers. She put her hand down to investigate and a wasp stung her!! The next few minutes were full of panic and some strange dancing around ;-) We had to pull those trousers straight down to get the wasp out of its new home. A little embarrasing for poor Lynny as we were on the jeep safari with about 10 other people. Oh, and she had bright red knickers on!! haha

Getting ready to throw myself down an incredibly steep dune. It looks frightening at times but falling doesnt hurt at all .... much less than snow!
