I didn’t do much today. I wanted to give my burnt out legs some rest since they were seriously messed up from the last few days. I woke up leisurely around ten or eleven and got myself a book from the hostel, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It’s a pretty serious book but I have wanted to read it for a long time and I figured what the hell else do I have to do? I sat out in the courtyard and read for a while in the sun, I took my shirt off for about a half hour and got pretty pink. Of course the sun is so much closer to us here and I took for granted that fact. Oh well it’s not too bad this time thank god, however Brett is pretty red, its mildly funny. We talked about how we wanted to go out since we hadn’t really been out to the bars hardcore since we arrived. We decided for the moment to go to an internet café to use the Wi-Fi and upload some pictures. I was uploading all the photos to the blog and it was taking forever and just before
it was done it cancelled! I was furious. So I took the opportunity to put them on Picasa at least. I did some light Facebook creeping and we had a few beers in the afternoon which made us a little sluggish. We stopped at the grocery store on the way back to the hostel and picked up some meat and vegetables for dinner. We got back to the hostel and we both laid down for a nap. I am pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to make it here in Cusco if I couldn’t nap because it is a chore just doing normal stuff! We slept for ac couple hours and then cracked open the wine and started making dinner. The kitchen is very small and there were a lot of people trying to make dinner last night so we had to get creative with the burners and the pots we were using. It was a logistical challenge however two college educated men nearing thirty years of age should be able to figure something like that out haha. Dinner consisted of some steak, pasta, green beans, and green pepper. It was pretty darn good for such a hodgepodge. After dinner
we cleaned up a little and decided to go out. We were supposed to meet this Brit named Carl however we couldn’t find him so we had a drink at this Irish bar and then we went to a couple local discotecas. They were giving salsa lessons at the first place called Mythologie and we had a couple beers there and watched the lessons. We probably should have participated. After that we went next door to a bar called Inka Team which was pretty loose. There were chicks on the bar, dudes handing out free shots by pouring them in your mouth and just loud bumping club music, it was great. We stayed there the majority of the night and met some people from Boston who were studying in Cusco, we had some beers with them and danced a while and then we went to the final bar of the night, Mama Africa. It was packed and sweaty and dark, we were hammered too so it wasn’t so pleasant. We danced for a while there and then busted out for home. We got back home around 430 and fell right asleep.
