In the Plaza de ArmasIn the Plaza de ArmasIn the Plaza de Armas

This is one beautiful city.
cuzco is a beautiful town. it reminds me of the old beauty of prague, only cheaper and with a latin twist. all the streets are paved with cobblestones and it just has this great energy which has made the first few days of our trip wonderful.

they cuzqueños (people from cuzco) have treated us very well even though it is a tourist town swimming in gringos. the only annoyance are the swarms of children selling finger puppets and quechua women with llamas offering to let us take a picture of them for a sol (30 cents). all in all, cuzco is a must visit; a wonderful place. and guess what, the lights never go out here! we are living in heaven.

we went out drinking a few times here. they ahve people handing out free drink passes for their discotecas, so we spent a night bar hopping for free. chrissy and i danced a eddy herrera merengue in the mama america bar. its nice every time we get a taste of the Dominican REpublic again.

the only snafu we{ve had here was when i went to confirm my registration for the inca trail hike. apparently, idiot that i

You really have to see the incan walls to appreciate them. they are amazing.
am, i registered as a student. well, since my student id card was 2 years expired, they told me that i was not allowed to enter the inca trail. i protested and said, okay, fine, let me register as an adult, and ill pay the difference. they told me that you cannot change a reservation less than 5 days before your hike, and this one dude said straight up, "you will not be hiking the inca trail". so i had to think and work fast. the go to guy was greg. putting tom, jason, chrissy, and my heads together we hacked together a fake letter from my university saying that i was a student so that i could get a student id card made here in cuzco. greg did a lot of legwork in fairfax and eventually was able to email me the letter, making it look like it was coming from the university. i know, i defrauded the peruvian government, but it was necessary for me to get on the trail. but it all worked out in the end and i got my student id card and was able to get on the trail. lesson: dont lie, but if
