Trail of Dreams

Just a gentle 6 hour walk on the first day led us to believe the Inca
trail would be a fairly easy hike. wrong. Pretty hardcore stuff. Fran was all out of energy by the second day (5 hours of uphill trekking with an (apparently) very bad cold) and feeling quite sorry for herself so Mark rode in on his white horse and chivalrously carried her bags.

By the third day though all was good and the scenery and ruins could be fully appreciated. Not for Lucy though who thought she would try run on the second day to keep up with the porters (fitter than Hulk Hogan) and was renedered incapacitated from then on....the calf muscles had seized completely and there was
nothing she could do about it.

Up at 4 in the morning on the last day to see the
sun rise at Machhu Pichu, definately worth it. Incredible ruins...
