Monasterium Santa Catalina a Santa Teresa, kde stale ziji radove sestry.
Slowly we start to learn how to spend a night on the bus and grab a few hours of decent sleep. This morning was no exceprion and we woke up on the bus to Arequipa, the 2. largest Peruvian city with 1 million people. We had 2 hour delay but we are getting used to it...u just cant anything about that. We hailed taxi from terminal to our hostal we found, but the taxi driver "forgot" direction and took us to a different one, fortunately not far from our one, but didnot forget to charge us a bit more. Here we as usual haggled our way through from 60 we get to 30 soles, good deal for
both considering there is a low season. We did stroll through the city and we were impressed - Ar. is really beatiful architectonically, buildings made of white stone called sillar shine so the whole city looks white. The main attraction is the main square, Monastery Sanata Catalina and Santa Terasa where still live the nuns. Over the city there is a enormous vulcano El Misti, nearly 6000metres that can be easily tackled same as close peak Chachani, one of the easiest 6000 m peaks in the world and if u want, have enough money and still reasonably fit then u can climb up to the top with no experience at all. In the eve we did shopping cos tom we hit the road and do some trekking again.
