Couldn't have chose a more peaceful setting

Out of this world!
Narnia indeed--what incredible landscapes! You two are amazing--marathon bus rides and then hiking at altitude without acclimatization! Scary to hear that the Quilotoa loop (which I thought I could do) was more difficult at times. You were so lucky to have blue skies and clear weather in what is usually the rainy season. Really fabulous photos and excellent adventure!

Re: Out of this world!
We really didn't know what to expect going from sea level to 3000m above sea level. Thankfully it was only the expected shortness of breath whilst trekking we suffered from. Our Quilotoa trek was quite difficult in parts, there maybe a simpler route that you could do but you may need to ask around.

Trekking at 4000m high wasn't easy!

The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu is as gorgeous as Huaraz Treks!!
Incredible views along the Salkantay Trail. It's not hard to see why Nat Geo rates it a top 25 trek in the world, with so much variance. The Salkantay mountain itself is an important deity in Quechuan culture and walking up to the pass is an incredibly worthwhile challenge
