Cuenca and the Southern Highlands

I took an overnight bus from Quito to Loja, which is a small, yet very charming city in the southern area of Ecuador. I thought it seemed like a mini Quito, as it is situated in a valley. This market was huge, the bottow floor had everything from veggies to meat from flowers to fish... and the top floor was more clothes, bags, shoes, etc.

WERE IN NEW YORK !!!

We found some New York pizza, not as good as NY pizza, but damn close! Its pretty hard to beat after all...

Its situated near the Parque Calderon, (front entrance is in the Park), on one side of the park there is the "New Cathedral" and on the other side there is the "Old Cathedral". They are both gorgeous, but the New one is the highlight of Cuenca! You can only see the blue domes from the back of the church!
