¡¡Vamos, ECUADOR!!
Yes, I know we lost 0-3 to Germany...but we will return with VENGANCE on Sunday and continue on our path to victory! And, aren´t I precious in all my Ecaudor gear? It´s all about love and support. I used to be a gringa, but now I´m Ecuadoriana and proud. ¡Vive Ecuador! Yes, that´s right...it´s the middle of the week, Wednesday, which means today is humpday! I´m so worn out too...oh well, let´s start with yesterday:
YESTERDAY (6-20)
***Ecuador vs. Germany***
Germany wins 3-0...a tough game, tough loss. Even though during the game, while I was watching, it seemed that for the most part, during the game, we had great posession of the ball, and made good choices. At least our offense made good choices. I think Ecuador has a very strong midfield and good attackers, but the problem lies on their defense. They have an amazing keeper, for the majoritiy of the time, that´s not the problem. And their defense has supurb acceracy...it´s just they can´t really read the game well and don´t know what to do half the time. Talent is great, but what good is it if you don´t know how to use it well? Oh well, I´ll look forward to watching them play again on Sunday. We haven´t decided where we´re going to go to watch the game, but we´ve a least decided we want to be surronded by Ecuadorian love! Right now, we´re thinking of going the movie theater to watch. On Thursday, I´ll
Pretty Flower
A close up of a pretty flower I couldn´t resist taking a shot of! ¡Que bonita! be watching my own country compete in the world cup. GO USA!
Today, we had visitors at the house, and Señor Loyolas famliy came over to hang out for a while. They live about an hour away, so when it was time to leave, we had to drive them to the bus station. By that time it was pretty late and already dark, so we headed home to crash for the night. It was a nice visit and because of everyone I´ve met, I´m very convinced that Ecuadorians are the nicest people ever! Though, don´t worry, I know not to trust anyone I don´t know, despite how nice they may seem. My parents didn´t raise no foo´.
After a nice shower, it felt good to hit the hay and look forward to another bright, shinning day in the sunniest country in the world!
TODAY (6-21)
Well, today in the morning I went with Señor Loyola to the La Finca Hormiga and had a nice time picked fruits, talking, and enjoying nature. Though the mosqitoes made it kind of hard, I still had a great time. Who couldn´t have a great time in such
Cactus
I´ve never seen so many cactus plants, or cacti, or whatever they´re called...but there sure are a lot here in Guayaquil! a beautiful place? Well, we fed the precious dogs and cats there before heading back to school for the rest of the morning.
When we got there, I pulled out an old volleyball and started juggling around. I was actually doing very well, and to my suprise from each window in the school stood amazed admirers. It made me laugh pretty hard. I´d won the love from the girls by simply being a nice, cute girl. But it´s hard to get little boys to like you when all they can say is..."cooties," but all that has changed. I think some are even infatuated, haha. Well, they´ve all requested I bring my "sport" shoes tomorrow so I can teach them some things, so I gladly agreed. Now I can look forward to not only watching soccer (USA!!!) but playing it as well. It´s going to be a great day!
We got home and ate lunch and when we were done I headed upstairs to rest a little, but I wasn´t tired, so I flicked on the TV...and guess what I watched? Will Smith star in IRobots, that´s what. Except I came in half way and didn´t even get the chance to see more than 30 minutes before Dora came home and swept me away. It was very exciting though! We went to Riocentro, Policentro, and Mall del Sol all in one afternoon/evening. What an experience. And, yes, my feet do hurt a little right now.
Anyway, we got home only to find that Señora Loyola lost her voice. Her throat had been hurting before and she stayed home one day from the school, but today she lost her voice. I ask that we all pray for her to get better quickly and that God guide her health carefully in His hands always. She´s such a fabulous woman and I hate to see her like this...
For now, though, I´ll be heading off to bed before my big day tomorrow. Make sure you all tune in to see US play!! Scratch that...make sure you all watch USA win tomorrow morning at 9 here, so I´m going to guess 8 in the morning for you, my fellow Americans.
Until next time,
Shir

Shir vs. Semillita, for the championship ;-)
Wow Shir, Looks like you've been making new inroads! hehe Should be fun to show them kids some soccer tricks - and have 'em school ya haha! But hey, that's if your feet aren't too tired still. That seems like too many malls for one day. BTW, since it's earlier there than here, by an hour, that means the game is starting at 10 here. We're hoping to watch it later; G's gonna record it. Well I see you're almost a full-fledged sports analyist for fútbol; maybe you can interpret the game for people around if you get to watch tomorrow :) We feel for Srta. Dora and pray she regains her voice quickly and for God to restore her health and give her a comfortable and continued highly productive life. We know how much she loves to be involved and doing things; we love her and wish her the best. Love you; hasta luego!
