Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We finally have internet at the Sundown Hotel! Since the last blog, Henry's voice has returned back to normal (after horseback riding), DJ has been beached (catching up on school work), and Breana has been bummed since we lost her Karine (she went home to Canada), Henry and Dj are back in class, and I am happy not to be cooking and cleaning. Not only did we lose Karine, but we also lost Pablo, Dan, and Geoff(traveling on to Peru), as well as Harley and Wendy (back home to Washington). Before we lost Karine, she brought us one of her friends, Pascal (also from Canada) to take her place, it has been great having him around! It also has been great getting to know Ryans parents, who are escaping the cold in Canada.

Let me give you an idea of our expenses this week: (so expensive out here!) Breana got her hair braided on the beach this week for 7 dollars (looks good!), Henry had a one hour massage on the beach for 10 dollars (sorry roxanne/his massage chair!), I bought a large sac of bananas for one dollar (back home it would have been $20), happy hours out here are the best, two drinks for the price of one ($2.50). I'm really getting the hang of things, becoming one of the locals, taking buses to San Vicente to buy groceries with Ryan and Vannessa. Ryan arranged a ride back to the Sundown in the back of a pick up truck, and on the way back DJ lost his hat. We stop the truck to retrieve the hat and while he's doing that, his hat gets run over by a taxi driver (what a jerk!). Aside from the fact that we've never had hot water in our showers, (which I am so over!) DJ getting his hat run over has been the only negative thing this trip!

I will be able to check my email on a daly basis now that the internet is up and running (except for when the power is out, which happens quite frequently). Today was pretty warm, about 90 degrees, but according to Henry, the beer is cold, the rum goes down smooth, and the sunsets are extremely beautiful (I would have to agree, what a tough life!).

Hasta luego for now!

A different perspective
Glad to see all is OK with you. Heck, looks like better than just OK to me! You all look happy, healthy and enjoying a simpler lifestyle. I'd be interested to see if your change of latitude has changed your attitude? (thank you Jimmy Buffet). As an airline pilot I experienced a change in latitude and perspective even on my 4 day work trips, I can only imagine a trip like yours will have a positive affect on your perspective. Loved the pics, please post more. Gary
