well riobamba was a bit of a bust we were planning on going on the train ride called the nose of the devil but when we got to the station the train wasn´t there and we had no idea what was going on... later on we discovered that they are not allowing people to ride on the roof as two japanese tourists got decapitated a few months back.... yeah ew... and the buzz was that they are refiting the train to be a bit safer... yeah the first ´safety´ measure we have even heard about in SA... so we got out of riobamba quick... as there is little to do even when the train is running so we are in baños now... this town is pretty cool very laid back and lots to do... first day we rented quads and went to the top of a nearby mountain which was awesome ande super muddy as it´s been raining hard since we got here... the next day (today) we planned on renting horses and doing that whole thing... (any ´brokeback mountain´comments will be deleted) but the horses can´t get wet apparently so we reverted back to our little gas powered horses and ripped up another mountain and got so muddy that we all contiplated on showering in our clothes... lack of hot water cancelled that...
so horses tomorrow and if they wuss out again... we are going to head to tena the next stop for river rafting
well until next time

Bad Boyz
OK. I always thought that banos meant bathrooms. AND I have resisted comment on your testosterone-induced (adrenaline-deprived) behaviour until now. As you know, we are strident environmentalists, and we do not approve of your recent behaviour. "Ripping up mountains" on quads!!!! Do you realize what kind of havoc you are playing with delecate ecosystems???? Kyle, would you condone this this type of behaviour on Vernon Hill?? OK we realize there must be some shortage of activities in riobamba, but surely you can find an ecosystem to restore, ... an orphanage to volunteer at.... or some other way to make yourselves sustainable and useful in the ecuadorian society!!! What do the other parents of these 3 amigos think?!! You bad boyz are losing your focus! (Robyn/Kelly/Rachael/Heather) help me out here! Remember you are representing us Canadians at home who wish we were with you! but are enjoying the trip vicariously. (Lyle's spelling is just an interesting challenge!) We want you to enjoy - responsibly!! Take care all of you. We enjoy your blogs! (Kyle, are you remembering to brush your teeth (and floss!)) Luv, Ma
