Don't worry I am still alive!
I have really tried to do an entry over the last month.. but it is so much work and it got more every day. Luckily, now that I already forgot two thirds of the last six weeks the work is not that hard anymore and I can make you happy again with my next blogentry. Especially because I was not travelling alone over the last 5 weeks this blogentry had to wait because I just did not have a lot of time. Soo.. right now I am sitting in a coffee-place in Bogota and I will right after this entry go to the Museo del oro and take a look at some gold which, as a swiss guy, is just the thing to do I think.
Very well. I think we were in Sevilla last time. I really love Sevilla and I was there some more days and went to school and stuff. Then a friend from Switzerland (Phippu) came visiting me and was so kind to take me to his place at the beaches of South Spain for some days. The place was called Estepona and I had a great time there,
finally speaking some Swissgerman again. After Estepona I took a BlaBlaCar to Madrid (not that comfortable and a six hour drive.. 😞). In Madrid I met my sister Sara, we did some touriststuff which I don't really remember, except for an alternative city tour which was fun.
Then we flew from Madrid to la Habana, Cuba. In Havana we met some people went some dancing and ate some rice and beans. Then we were off to Varadero Beach, caribbean beaches, beautiful water and white sand. The water was like a hunderd degrees though and not really refreshing. To Varadero we went by cab because after 1.5 hours at the bus terminal we found out, that the bus was full and that a taxi is about the same price. There in Varadero we stayed at a "5 star"-all inclusive Hotel which was (at first) surprisingly not that expensive. We found out why when we saw the rooms and tasted the food :D. Up to now I think it is still the worst food I have eaten during my travels. At least the Cocktail-Bar was all inclusive to and so I could work me through the menu. Wifi and internet in
Cuba is nearly non-existant and when you find it it costs like 3$ an hour. At the beginning I thought, one hour thats easy I will never need one hour to book a flight..... There I found out that one hour to book a flight is not that much and that travelling without internet is really difficult :O. We stayed some 3 nights and went to Trinidad afterwards. After the very touristy Varadero where you see only hotels, the very touristic Trinidad was something else. Every House there was a casa particular, which is something like a hostel but you get your own room. Trinidad was very nice and looked like the images of the first page of your cuba-travelguide. There was an amazing club in a cave up the hill from the town and at the casa de la musica there was a lot of live music and shows (actually everywhere in Cuba there is very nice live music). After Trinidad we went to Playa Larga which was nice too and stuff but you do not really have to see it... and on we go back to Havana for our last four days. We really loved Havana, beautiful city,
we could walk around at night in the darkest street and ask the most fucked up guys for directions and they would not try to rob us sooo... I would say save place there. For us Cuba was quite expensive though and the people on the streets are sometimes really annoying (tried to spell that now 3 times... looks somehow right..? or not?) trying to sell you stuff all the time trying to pull you into their restaurants and bars and we got offered at least 100 taxis every day. The people alltogether are nice and friendly and helpful though and if you now where and how you can eat and travel kind of cheap in Cuba.
Then off to the airport Sara had her flight on some evening around eight so we were at the airport around fiveish and like often I took her to the wrong terminal first. Finally we found it and I left her to go sleep at the terminal until my flight at 6 in the morning. Luckily on my way back I once again landed at the wrong terminal :D which really annoyed the taxidriver because I didnt have much money left and he had to drive me around the airport for half an hour. So I slept some hours at the airport and took my flight in the morning first to Panama, where I already could exchange some words with Florian (the swiss guy I would travel Colombia with) before we parted again and I flew over San Andres Islands to Cartagena, he over Bogota. There we had some coffee and looked for a hostel and stuff and now I will just publish this and make one entry about Colombia in the next days... I have to see that Goldmuseum now... We got to the 28. of July now by the way. Wow its very windy outside right now...
