The spirit of any city is quite often found in its streets, a mix of the people you encounter, the food stalls, the architecture, the music & well not the least of all, its urban art. After Berlin, here I am again in place where the streets speak to every day people! In Bogota, there is a wealth of it, intense, quite often taking strong stance on politics, war, the power of media or intra family ... Read Full Entry

Great blog! Not dangerous?
Loved the blog on Bogota! I've always heard that Bogota was about the most dangerous city in the world. But it looks like you had no problems there? I'm planning to go there, while doing my RTW trip. :)

Re:Stephen
Hi Stephen, Bogota might indeed not be the safest place in Colombia, got to be a bit careful in some areas of the city especially at night, but it was just fine. When will you start your RTW? If you do go to Bogota, dont miss the bike tour, that was one of the highlight of my time there :-) Best wishes with the RTW preparation,

2020
I'll be starting my RTW trip in January 2020. Yes, it's a long time in the future. But, 7 1/3 years can go by very quickly! It's my 50th birthday present to myself. :) That'll give me plenty of time to plan, save, get fit, etc. Route planning is proving to be interesting, though. Particularly at the beginning. I'll be starting in India and SE Asia. Working it in with the seasons has been a bit of a challenge. Definitely want to go to Everest Base Camp. :)
