Part of walking tour of SantiagoFree day as the first leg ending with some of the group leaving. Terry, Shirley, Lindsay
A group meeting at 6 pm arranged to welcome new members joining us on the second leg.
Walked into the city centre with Tom to take the 4 hour free walking tour starting outside the cathedral and met up with others from our group; several other people also joined the tour. The guide welcomed each of us individually. He asked if anyone had heard and felt the earth tremor the night before, which was 4.8 on the Richter scale; only four years earlier in 2010 Santiago suffered an earthquake which killed three people. The cathedral was badly damaged and still has scaffolding around it.
After the tour had lunch with Penny, Shirley and the two Matts. Shared a taxi back to the Happy House hotel, cost split between four of us cost only 2.5 ARS.
Took a shower and a few of us went to the group meeting and met the new people joining the trip.
Tomorrow we cross the border back into Argentina at Los Labradores.
