We stop short of the border to take photos of the stunning scenery. We continue to the Backpacker Hostel in Pucon for our two night stop, The owner Claudio went through the activities for the next day. I then took a walk round Pucon a lively place with plenty of cafes with seating outside. Had lunch with Penny and Shirley at one of these eateries. Later several of us took an organised trip to hot thermal pools, so relaxing.

The last bus back to Pucon so did not hang around for too long before starting the long descent back. Met lots of other hikers making the climb up as I went down. The journey back down was as beautiful and enjoyable as going up; lovely sunshine, trees, wild flowers, birds singing and amazing scenery.
Made it back to the ticket office at 16:30, so plenty of time. Sat and chatted to other English couple while waiting for the bus journey back to Pucon.
After a shower enjoyed BBQ lamb, jacket potatoes and selection of salads.

Our room was decked out with the figure heads from various seagoing ships from the past. I played safe and had tuna, which was cooked to perfection accompanied by a side salad of avocado and celery.
Just nodding off to sleep when a loud noise and shaking of the building, OMG! not about to have an earthquake I hope. There was an earthquake in Santiago only four years ago in 2010.
