Peak of San Cristobal, Santiago Buenos Dias!
We are writing this note from Lauras apartment on our last day in Chile. We are headed to Mendoza, Argentina tomorrow morning as our adventure continues. Excuse the lack of grammar as this computer is meant for typing in Spanish. We are both having a great time in Chile and just returned from a five day camping trip in Rio Magico, Valle Elqui. We passed through Coquimbo, La Serena and hopped of the 6 hour overnight bus in Vicuna. Valle Elqui is truly magical... The stars at night are more than anything we had seen before (although meggie had been there before a second trip was even better, shared with Lucas of course). We hitched a ride from Monte Grande to Rio Magico, and searched through the entire camp ground hoping for an open site, with a decent location. (more pictures of this trip to come).
Before our camping adventure we also took a two day venture to an awesome beach town called Algarrobo. While this town was hidden from us because Lonely Planet failed to embrace its beauty, after many chats with Chileans and Laura, we were anxious to discover its windy yet warm beach town

Worlds largest pool in Algarrobo vibe. The beach of Algarrobo is miles long and we were able to explore its extensive beauty as we ventured from one end to the other, crossing by the worlds largest pool. The picture does no justice to its size, imagine this, a pool with windsurfers cruising, couples kayaking, families boating and giant sized plastic hamster balls for the kids to roll around in.... INSANE! You have to be VIP to access this area, but we got a good up close view.
Before our trips we stayed in Santiago exploring the city with Laura, and hiking up San Cristobal twice, the cities mini nature gettaway. About 3.5 miles straight up, where you can visit the Virgen statue or the less religious can just enjoy the panoramic view of santiagos endless skyscrapers and unfortunate blanket of smog suffocating the city.
I will let the pictures do most of the talking here because there are lots of things we need to do today in preparation for Argentina. We hope all is well at home and send our love.
