Hey guys! I´ve been spending more time in Santiago lately and figured I would post some pictures of random stuff that I´ve been doing around here. I´ve been getting cultured, and yes, I feel very worldly. Went to some cool photo exhibits, the best jazz show of my life, nights out on the town, etc. It´s been fun. Come visit me 😊

And all that jazzzz....And all that jazzzz....
And all that jazzzz....

We went to a free jazz show that was put on at a music school in the city. It was amazing, one of the best shows of my life. This girl sang in 6 different languages! I´m going to another one of her shows next weekend in Valparaiso.

Shadow of everone climbing on the statue in Plaza Italia. Fun to see but only stayed for about 15 minutes... had to get some pictures!

Plaza Italia. Starts out with all of the police in riot gear blocking the statues but always ends up like this (kind of hard to see but this is the main statue with a sea of people on it). Everyone is in the streets with flags, confetti, playing soccer with whatever they can find, it´s really fun (happens every time Chile wins, even if it´s just a university game). Fun until the end of the night- this time people were climbing on flagpoles that ended up falling and injuring people, others were too drunk and falling off of the statues and randomly people started throwing bottles, so it ended in teargas and firehoses. A little dramatic.

Cena!

I have dinner with a group of friends from every corner of the world. Each week we switch up who cooks... next week it´s my turn. Last week the Mexicans cooked and I couldn´t have been happier (don´t worry Tía Veronica, your food is always the best... but I have to make due without you).

A mixed group- two frenchies, four mexicans, two spaniards and me. Everyone keeps making fun of me and saying i´m going to bring McDonald´s and Pepsi (we are supposed to cook things that are eaten frequently or that are traditional in our country)!

Used to be called Plaza Mayor. In siglo XIV when news first started coming to Chile (1808) people used to gather here and read the news out loud because only a very small portion of society could read.
