Paraty was fairly easy to reach, a mere six hour bus journey (pah). We only stayed two nights, as we just wanted to see the beaches and head on towards Rio (can you tell we´re excited about Rio). Paraty was a quaint little town, with a main square and some shops, restaurants etc. but nothing major, no night life or anything like that.

During our day we went to Trindade which is a little village half an hour away, where supposedly some of the best beaches are. We weren´t disappointed, the beaches were gorgeous, and we spent some quality time playing that timeless classic beach game that is "bat and ball" with some little wooden bats we invested in. (until a dog stole our ball haha)

That might not sound like a very interesting detail, but that´s because there´s not much to report really! I´ve got a few pics of the beach to put online soon so you can share in our enjoyment (and maybe be a little bit jealous), but that´s about all there is to tell about Paraty! Next stop.... Rio! xxx

relief!
We are so glad that we only hear about your adventures when they are over and you are both safe! You have certainly done everything risky in SA and must be looking forward to spending some ( fairly) safe time in the sun. Looking forward to seeing you home in two pieces! Lots of love mum and dad Dxxx

Flying and languages
Hi Nic and James, glad to hear everything is going to plan, I hope that Rio doesn't totally empty the bank account. Anyway just thought i'd share this with you given the flight problems. Just arrived home from Munich with Easyjet, sitting next to me on the plane was a very nice young lady (27) who was looking terrified, it turned out she was from the Ukraine and studying for a BA in languages, Russian, English and German, her accent was wierd given the fact that she has spent 6 years in Los Angeles (scholarship), 2 years in UK and 3 years in Munich. And to cap it off she now lives in North London with a Greek boyfriend. Anyway she proceeeded to talk to me for the whole journey so the plan to doze and listen to music was ruined. I was very tempted to relay your flight experience to her just so that I could get some peace! Anyway enjoy Brazil and take a look at Copacabana beach for me!
