The drive back was pretty uneventful, but getting out of Rio was a bit of a nightmare. We did pass a huge monastery in one of the towns. It had a cable car to a chapel on a hill that looked interesting, but we did not stop there. The drive was about 5 hours and another hour to get from the outskirts of Sao Paulo into the city centre. The Mecure apartments are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We settled in to watch the 1pm games in neil and Priscilla's room. For dinner we went out to the local restaurants. We found one with a big screen. Brazil was playing Cameroon. Being African we were supporting Cameroon who unfortunately had no chance of winning. The Brazillians were very passionate and so were we. The arguments became heated and by half time we dcided to leave before it got out of control.
