Sunset in Rio
From the top of the Sugarloaf Well tigers, its been tooo long since we last spoke, which means a lot has happened, so we have much to talk about, so lets get down to bizness. Flew out from BA to rio via santiago, and there was a teary goodbye at the airport especially brucie who couldnt keep the tears back.... i havent seen a grown man cry since last year at camp when we went on a day off and KFC was out of chicken and Dom D'souza the big man let it all out... Dom you sweet kid, they were good times.....Anyway back to the topic...... Landed in Rio to meet 3 lovely ladies at the airport who were ready to hit the town and couldnt understand why we didnt want to take our luggage clubbing with us... So after a quick shower/shave to get myself back up to a reasonable standard we went straight to a club in copacabana...
The line for the club was at least as long as the entire block and then around the corner... So i immediatly blew up cause i dont do lines for clubs, but then was soon turned around on the whole situation when there
Talking to the Big Man
Many sins were confessed, these are some of the gold aussies we ran into on our travels was an old mate selling beers in the line... So after a few we piled into the club for a massive one that ended about 5am with the sun coming up and me heading back to the hostel needing sleep badly after a long flight and drinking session, to find that some other punter had decided to occupy my middle bunk of the three bed bunk....So being a man of the people i didnt wake him and went on the search for suitable bedding for the night...which happened to be a hammock for the initial pass out and then a couple of hours later some random bed in a girls dorm...they were impressed with the big man when they woke up... to say the least.
The next morning, me and the little man were walking down the street and noticed in the distance what looked like disgusting locals, but turned out to be three aussies in the australian travelling attire and we took one look at each other and were impressed with what we saw. From that moment on the trouters were inseperable, doing random acts such as asking god for forgiveness, breaking into riverdance at random moments including
Lads at the Soccer
The team we were going for got beaten, so we just bought more beers to ease the pains main roads, and soccer matches, hurling abuse at random brazillians, and telling entire crowds of people to ease it up.
So many gold nights followed, and many sore mornings followed them, the national drink of brazil the caiprihina punished the big man many times over...
My original plan for brazil was to only stay for i think six nights. Well thats how long i booked the hostel for anyway. I was stressed cause i still hadnt lined up a job in london yet and i didnt want to go there sans employment, and i was having sooo much fun in brazil with the trouts, my brother and mariana and clara who i hadnt seen for a year, and promised to stay longer than 6 days, so i went to the airport in a bad mood, not wanting to leave paradise for rainy london town. So when they asked me if i would like to change my flight as they had overbooked that day, AND give me accomadation in a 5 star hotel for the night, AND give me 150 euros for my troubles, i signed on the dotted line...
The night in the hotel was fab to
Sunset in Rio again
From the top of the Sugarloaf say the least, all except for the flithy looks i got from the people who actually paid the 600 reals...but i took my backpack and gave it over to the porter and swiftly told the man to show me to the suite...Dinner was a buffet and i dont think there is backpacker in the free world who doesnt chubb up at the thoughts of free buffett....so after taking 3 hours to make sure that i sampled the fineries of the resturant, i headed to the pool and sauna for much needed relaxing....travelling is such a hard life.
After this night the rest of my time was spent at Marys house with timmy, and her crazy mum who kept telling me that i was her new son in law, and even went and got a portuguese to english dictionary to tell me this in her best english ever... Carnival started a few days later and one of the best things about staying was that i got to see Deep Dish ( world famous dj's) and pdiddy, or puff daddy or puff dragon or whatever he calls himself these days, which was great times!!!!
A few days later the dream was over and it was off to England to work in a bar, and catch up with GOLD people from camp, aus and other random locations... Working is great, feels good to finally have some cash to do stuff with, and the people here are fantasmo, having a great time... off to Egypt in May and the Dublin and the to camp for more fun times, cant hardly wait to start working on the tan again people!!! So keep in touch and hopefully if your in england we can catch up soon.... My number here is 07955391628, or if your in aus its 0011447955391628, so would love to hear from whoever wants to speak!!!!! Take care...
