Casa da Ouvidor

As we left I noticed a list of the most famous visitors to the restaurant. I checked for my name twice and could not find it. But I did see some interesting others such as John Updike and Richard Dreyfess. Also, several of our favorite musicians such as Milton Nasimento, Gilberto Gil, and Sandy and Junior. There is a famous American political figure also. Do you see his name?

CEMIG

Everywhere we went there were signs and vehicles with the CEMIG lable and logo. I finally gave in and took this photo of a manhole cover in the sidewalk. That's my old employer. I really enjoyed working there.

Golf Club

It was neat to see again my club. It was a nine hole course with two sets of tees on each. It appeared that they have added nine more since I left plus a driving range.

Belo Horizonte

On the drive back from Ouro Preto we stopped at my old golf club to look around. As we left we spotted this view from the ridge. It is the Belvedere neighborhood at the ridge over Belo.

Flavela

The ghettos of Brazil are called flavelas. This one has great view over the city and is largest in the city.

Bakery

Jackie spotted her favorite bakery after we returned the rental car. She drug me in.

Olympics in 2016!!
Guess y'all were near some of the celebration when they heard that Rio was chosen to be the city! xox P.

Olympics
I was pleased to see Rio chosen to host the Olympics. That will give us another reason to return. We are home now. I have only one blog to finish this trip. Since I've been home I have been busy.
