Sun Island, Bolivia
Keeping Guard
Trzymajac straz One of the top tourist destination in Lake titicaca area are unique Islas Flotanes. (lake Titicca peruvian site)
Then Uros people choose to live on the islands build using many layers of the totora reeds that grow in the shalows of Lake Titicaca.
The reason they started their floating existance centures ago was to isolate themselves from Incas and Collas .
One of the Uros Island we visited is very small. The are five small huts build from the same material as the island.
The visit was quite commercial - a bit more than i would of expected. In few words guide explained us the way how the Uros people live, what they eat and how they build the island..
Luckily I had a chance to sit next to the one of the native Uros guy....They are Peruvian Now but originally they come from Bolivia. They don´t pay taxes but Peruvian goverment helps them with health service, education and dealing with waste management. I noticed they have a solar panels on the top of the roofs.
This is a present from peruvian ex president..
They still cook food using fireplace outside their huts. They eat mainly rice,

przed usmazeniem w glebokim oleju... patatoes, fish, wild bird eggs. Sometimes they exchange on the mail land their crafts for food.
On the other bigger islands they have their floating school, adventist church and emergency point.
It was interesting to see different way of living and realise how little we need to live but I was glad to come back to civilization. Viva computers, toilets, water in the pipe and energy, and ice creams, chocolate, and cars, and...
Lake Titicaca, elevation of 3820 m which makes it the world´s highest navigable lake.
Acording to ancient legend, the sun was born here. The Inca´s believe their first Emperor rose from the rock on the nothern top of the Isla del Sol (Bolivian site).
White god Viracocha and the first Incas, Manco Capac and his sister - wife Mama Huaca made their mystical apperance.
We stayed on the Sun Island overnight and in the morning did fantastic breathtaking (REALLY) hike from the north top of island to the south.
PS. Did I mention that I had a guinea pig for dinner? ...

Wizyta byla dosyc komercjalna, troche wiecej niz sie spodziewalam.
Niech zyja komputery, toalety, woda w rurach i energia i
