Ok, just typed out a really long entry and managed to loose it. Have just returned to Sucre after a long stint in Bolivias back and beyond. We arrived this morning at 6, after a 13 (were told it was 8 hours) hour night time taxi ride through the mountains (filled with adventure, floods, avalanches, dust storms, roads that would make your hair stand on end...im not normally scared of heights, but my god. was torn between forcing myself to open my eyes and talk to the driver, or at least nod and smile to his spanish monolgues, or squeeze my eyes tight, risk the driver falling asleep but hopefully i would be unconscious when we went over the edge!) Anyway, with lisa stretched out on the back horribly ill and in pain with an ear infection, a 6ft galen squeezed in the boot with the rucksacks, and me terrified in the front, it was a trying 13 hours to say the least. but we did eat ourselves sick with apples and honey and butter and fried egg sandwiches (our only snacks)! so, arrived in sucre...ahh bliss...this morning. had my first shower in a looong time, peeled off my five day old socks, scrubbed the dirt, insects, and manure from my body, and collapsed in bed. bed! with sheets! and after sleeping just had a salad, greens! on a clean plate! then apple pie! oh how wonderful after days of yellow food, bread, pasta, potatos, fried eggs, chips, corn, rice, for every meal, all at the same time. so, ill tell you more of the news later, i need to go back to bed and pass out!

ARRGHH from readers
Well, not quite as scary reading about your journey as actually doing it, but blimey, I am filled with admiration and awe, and not a little anxiety on your behalf! Very glad you are back in Sucre and that you have a bed at last. Found all the photos on previous blogs very interesting, and also great to have Lisa's photos too. It does give us a sense of what it is like. Longing to hear all news about the journey you have been on for the last fortnight. And plans for the next journey!! So sorry you lost your long piece - nothing more distressing and upsetting than losing something that has taken you a long time to write. But don't give up. When you are rested please do write it out again. All your readers and fans wil be eternally grateful! And it will be so good for you as a record of all that is happening. If you see Lisa again please send my best wishes, and hope her ear infection clears up soon. All love Dadx
