Hi everyone,
Well the reason for my title is i had a beautiful message written for all of you to read and well the bloody computer shut down. I know i should have been saving as i went along but i thought it did it automatically but i have learnt the hard way and now i know. Just a mo, must save, hang on!
Done!
Ok on to something a bit more interesting! Well as you can see we have moved out of Buenos Aires and are right up north on the border of Brazil at the Iguasu National Park where there is a very famous waterfall. pictures to follow. But i am afraid that is going to be in another message. I would like to take you all back to Buenos Aires and finish what we got up to there.
Let me see! Well i left off the last time after we went on our crazy bike trip. After that we had a day of rest and just hung out wrote the diaries and walked around, a lazy day. We also went and bought our tent which we hope will house us well and also some metholated spirits. Now i´m
sure you all know that you use this stuff in certain camping cooker things and if you didn´t you do now. Over here they use gas and if you say you want this stuff to cook they look at you as if you are crazy and then they think to themselves these two are going to burn patagonian down. But we did manage to convince a lovely old guy in a hardware store to sell it to us and so we are now fully equiped for the camping.
All happy with ourselves we decided we would, at last, induldge in the worlds most famous steaks. We checked our reviews and found our spot. We headed out with great anticipation and we were not let down. The resturant was lovely. Not fancy just basic but very busy we got in just before the rush hour. We ordered our Beife de Lomo( its the back/loin) so we waited with great anticipation and when it arrived it was devine. Taste- Sweet, Texture-melted, Size-uber and me, in heaven. The best of the best of the best!
Well after all the good eating we decided it was time to work if off and so we
hired the bikes again to do the other side of the city. Oh and by the way this would be the side that Evita is buried so we were going to get to see here at last.
So up early the next morning and off to get the bikes. This time we were a bit better about where we were going so didn´t get lost so early in the trip. Off we went and handle the traffic like pros. We wanted to buy our tickets for this trip to iguazu so we headed for the bus/ train station. It was really busy there as it was central station and there was a market on. We locked the bikes up against a lamp post in front of the train station and headed off to the bus station to get our tickets and that took about an hour. Then we had some lunch and headed back to the bikes. I joked with joost about the bikes being stolen and we laughed oh how we laughed. Until we actually got back to the lamp post to find that the bikes were actually GONE! Oh Shit! We just stood looking at the post willing
the bikes to reappear but we new they were gone. Can you believe it! Inside i was laughing cause it was bloody funny but we did feel guilty for losing the bikes. We tried to tell the police that they were stolen but we probably said we had stolen them so they drove off. Thanks! They were gone to the slums to be painted a lovely back or silver, Orange was a bit obvious ! Then we had to ring the bike office and break the news. They just told us to come back to the office. So with our heads hanging low, no bikes but the keys for the lockes in our pockets we headed back on the metro. We ended up paying 700 pesos( 170 euro) for the two bikes which wasn´t too bad.
So we got over that and headed back to the hotel. We still hadn´t got to see Evita and i told Joost forget it, it´s too much hassel. In the hole process we have ended up losing two bikes trying to get to see this grave.
But we couldn´t leave it and so on Sunday we took the metro into town and walked out to
Palermo where the graveyard is and where on Sundays there is a hippy market. This is a very fancy part of Buenos Aires so you see how the rich leave here too. The streets leading up to the graveyard had Armani and LV shopson them so you know what i´m talking about. The market was nice and there was a game of juggling volleyball going on. That was a first! Some capawara and juggling and stuff. It was nice to see.
We then went to the graveyard and it wasn´t that busy so it took a bit to find the grave of Evita and when we did,mm, hey its a grave. Oh sorry its a sacrophagus. But there was nothing spectacular. Which, before we went to find this grave i though , no it will be simple cause she was a woman of the people but then maybe the people gave her a massive tomb, but no it was pretty normal. So at last we got there. After that we went to a fancy resturant to treat ourselves for our achievement. We had lovely sushi and a fine glass of wine, lovely.
So thats about it. After all that we
headed off on monday by bus to Porto Iguezu 18hrs,where we are now and trying to plan how to get to Uruguay, not easy. So i am going to leave it there and will continue the rest next time. Big LOVE G&J

Nog 11 uurtjes
Hey bro & sis! Dikke kus San
