we have millions of photos of the waterfalls
Right, so Victor picked us up this morning at 8am to go to the argentinian sdie of the falls. from this side you get a better close up view. he took us through the border and immigraion, which they didnt even look at us, he just showed all our passports for us!!! didn´t get a stamp though as argentina dont bother, even if you ask. we´ll get one later though, when we fly in!
It was a really hot day, and we had the option of getting a train to start with, or walking, and as a group of other tourists started queing for the train, we decided to walk!! we went to look at the lower part of the falls first, as we were told tht later in the day gave more impressive photos for the upper part, as the sun was in a different place in the sky.
the view from the lower platforms was good but we were disappointed slighty as the water level is so low at the moment. we were also gutted that we couldn{t do the adventure boat trip under the waterfall which we had all been looking forward to, also cos the water level

this shows how little water there was when we were there
was to low. spend a lot of time on the walkways trying to avoid the other large groups of tourists!!!! as a cunning plan we went and ate lunch at 11.30, hopeing that we would have a quite lunch without the coach fulls of torists everywhere, then w could go up to the high platforms hopefully while they we´re all having lunch. worked quite well as there was no one around us as we ate lunch which was really nice, not overly salted like the reat of the food in brazil seems to be. they also had ketchup which was exciting!!!! you only get catchup in brazil and it just tastes wrong!!!! anyway its a long walk to the highest viewing platform but it was worth it!!!! we got the train part the way up, which we were glad when we saw how long the walk would have been!! the photos at the top are good, but at the moment we dont want to carry our camera round with us!!!! we even got wet from the spray which kinda made up for not getting to go under - we´d all brought a change of clothes in anticipation of getting completely

on the little train on the way up to the main waterfall
soaked!!!!
we got picked up again by victor the driver and we´re taken back to the hotel where we had to get ready for another night bus. was again really boring and not as comfy as the previous one so was hard to sllep. we also had a change at about midnight which was annoying but i suppose not to bad!!!! when it got to time to get off the bus at our final destination (not sure on the name of the place) the bus driver had to come along and wake us to make us all get off!!!!
we were met there by two drivers in a little minibus who were from the place we were goin to in the pantanal. they took us to Bonito where we stayed for two nights. on the first proper day we all went out to this ranch, except one girl who was still suffering from the after effects of food poisoning!! heath and two others did the snorkeling trip, but one of the girls was scared of water so me, her and another girl did horse riding instead.
we´ll have to write more about all of that later as now we need to go get ready for a night train
speak when we next get internet access which we hope will be soon
