There isn't a whole lot I can say about the Iguazú Falls that wasn't already succinctly conveyed by Eleanor Roosevelt in her phrase "Poor Niagara!" This wasn't one of the destinations at the top of my personal list (eh, why? you might ask!), but one short plane ride later I was sweating my way through the jungle, wholeheartedly agreeing with good old Eleanor. The falls straddle Argentina and Brazil, and one analogy proposes that experiencing this natural wonder from the Brazilian side is like having the best seats at a World Cup final, whereas experiencing them from the Argentinian side is like
playing in the match. These photos are all from the Argentinian side as I didn't make it across the border. And yes, squint hard: those are real live monkeys swinging from the trees in the last few photos. Quite intimidating to see one suddenly flying overhead!
