Mendoza
Tree lined streets of Mendoza You could sure finally feel the heat in the sun again as we woke and stepped off the bus into the perfect blue sky of Mendoza. Looking at a map its hard to imagine how far we have travelled over the last few weeks. But with Winter approaching it is nice to be chasing the sun and heading towards the northern hemisphere.
Mendoza is the wine capital of Argentina with approx 60% of the countrys wine produced here. So with a quick trip to the Airline office to bring our flight to Easter Island forward we promptly booked onto a wine tour as this was one thing we werent going to miss.
So we have a busy day today visiting 5 wineries, 1 liquor, 1 olive oil and 1 chocolate factory before we take an overnight bus to Santiago (Chile) to catch our flight out to Easter Island.
Maybe it is because of the perfect blue sky and trees everywhere you look but Mendoza is an easy city to love. Yesterday we managed to explore by foot as much as we could until we ended up in what must be the cites crown jewel. The centrally placed Parque General San Martin
Parque General San Martin
This place is running central is a 420ha park set amongst trees and water features and on such a perfect day was an amazing refuge. So without much discussion upon finding this we were heading back to kit out in our running gear.
One of the nicest runs we have had.
