Hi people
After the amazing Buenos Aires we headed south to Patagonia. we went to three places, Bariloche, Puerto Madryn and finally El Calafate
BARILOCHE;
To get to bariloche we took an overnight bus which takes about 16 hours but its not that bad, you get a huge comfy seat which folds right back, you get nice food and wine and champagne with your dinner.
Bariloche is a beautiful ski resort were cool young argies go to party and hang out and the scenery is amazing, unfortunately the ski slopes shut the day before we arrived.
We spent one night here and chilled out, it was bliss.
PUERTO MADRYN;
We had to get another over night bus to get here and we spent three nights here, on the first day we just chilled out and walked around town but on the second day we went whale watching, we got picked up about 8 in the morning and drove for about an hour to a place called peninsula valdes.
We hopped on a boat and sailed out to sea, after about ten minutes we saw our first whales(mother and a baby) they were huge, the mother is about 30
metres long, we followed them for about twenty minutes and near the end the both got quite playful and were sticking there tails out the water, it was super cool.
On this day we also got to see elephant seals and sea lions.
On the third day we went to a place called punta tombo which is the worlds largest penguin colony, there is about 1 million penguins there and we got to walk in amongst them and there is a big sign saying ¨you must give way to the penguins" so you need to stop and they just stroll on past you.
We took another boat tip and got to see the most amazing dolphins, they were swimming along with the boat and leaping out the water.
EL CALAFATE
After yet another overnight bus we arrived into el calafate, here we got to visit the most amazing glaciers. the front of the main glacier is about 4km long and 60 metres high and it reaches back about 40km, its the most amazing sight, we got to take another boat which gets you really close to the face of the glacier then we got to walk up into the
hills so you are above the glacier and you get to see how far it stretches back, the hole experience was amazing.
