march of the mothers
every thursday at 15:30, the mothers still march Hey guys
i am finally catching up on my blog in santiago chile. well, i realized that i did not write much about bs as, even though i was studying there there for 10 weeks. My two programs of study, i am not going to lie, were pure crap. i mean, the second program, i love it becuase i am learning spanish, but the two other classes i am taking- art and history รง- are a joke.
anyways, to describe argentina- BUENOS ONDAS, meaning like good vibes, good times. simply, i love bs as and argentina. i feel as if bs as is my hometown. everyday, seriously, i always had a good time and was happy going to my boring classes, walking in the streets, or doing whatever. to me, argentina is magical. the culture fits my personality. first off, the argentines are so nice. i could talk or start up a conversation with almost anyone, or if i was lost or needed help, everyone would offer to help. the argentines are very welcoming and open. and for the general, they are all smart. well not smart, but informed. almost all the taxi drivers have education. you can have the

brenda flora y yo most wonderful, intellectual conversations with almost anyone. it sucks becuase everyone knows english and they all wnat to practice. also, i feel the education is better there. for instance, the teachers teach becuase they want to inform. there are free public lectures were the lecturer does not lecture, but talks with the auidence. the audience can interact, ask questions, challenge, put int their opinions, and the speaker is does not have that pride that he needs to know more than everyone else. people feed off others experiences and share all their information.
not to mention, i have never, never, (even my 5.5 weeks in brazil) seen so many good looking guys. yes, between looking at the wonderful architecture and the hot guys, walking the streets have never been so much fun. jajajajaja
then the culture is rich. with the european influence, its very elegantand sophsticated. the argentines appreciate and know the art of conversation. walk by any cafe or resturant at 1am and there will be old ladies still talking, after 3 hours, over coffee. The culture, at least to me, makes me feel appreciated and motivated me. i dont know how to explain. i was fortunate enough to make
9 really really really good friends there. not only, did they all open their doors to me and made me part of their family, but also showed me some good times and for instance, when i was robbed ( again) they all called and paid for dinners or made sure i had food and money. it was really sweet and very unselfish.
Buenos aires is so full of life. its a crazy city, so much people so much movement, so many things to do and see, but at the same time, people walk slow in the streets. people can spend 2 hours talking over coffee. people can enjoy the parks and drink mate. its great. my friends from brazil and now argentina joke with me that krissy you have american blood, but really you are latino. i cant help it. i just love their cultures. and their cultures fit my personality.in bs as, i felt like around every corner there is a new adventure, something new to discover and see. and the night life is fabulous and i love dancing. what am i going to do in the states... not being able to go out dancing, while for the past

this was during a really big protest- rally 3 months in brazil and argentina i went out at least 3-4 times a week?? sometimes, living by the ocean my entire life, the buildngs were a bit overwhelming and you need to escape the city and go to san isdro by the river where its a lot more tranqui. there is a lot of art influence- any week there are over 300 plays in bs as. plus the endless museums and art exhibits in the streets.
I have too many good memories and stories to write them all. Buenos aires is wonderful. as well as the rest of argentina. i went to bariloche, nequen ( also in the lake district), went to la pampa, hitchhiked up the river from san pedro to rosario and went to the coast. i saw a little of argentina. but its magnificant. as usual, i am planning a way to go back. the first time was for about 5 weeks, this time 10 weeks, hopefully next time, longer. too bad the economy is bad. next time i go, i hope i can take classes at a university and really really become an argentine. hahah
sorry about lack of pictures.. i dont have them on
