Sucking Out the Juices ...

... as much as this looks like teabagging, that's how you eat khinkali! You sprinkle lots of pepper all over it, then you grab it by a little nub, bite off a small piece of dough, and suck out the delicious broth inside. Then you proceed to slowly eat everything except for the nub, which is normally thrown out - Georgians think that only poor people would eat that little bit of dough. Five of us ate very well tonight, for very little - these khinkali only cost about $0.40 each, with each of us eating about five of them and sharing that big khachapuri. With a bottle of red and white wine, the bill still only worked out to be something like $7 or $8 each.
