Lähdettiin liikkeelle jo klo 3. Ajettiin Baker Cityn ohi etelään ja pysähdyttiin paikalle, jossa oli jo auto tien poskessa. Näkyi tähtitaivas, Venus kirkkaana. Lämmintä oli vain 7 astetta.
