Quite a change of scene ....from Alaska to Maastricht in the Netherlands ??. I was only home 2 days and then packed the bags into the car and off on the ferry across the Channel. it was a bit of a crisis in those 2 days with me coming home to a power cut to my house , so guys digging holes in my driveway and me with torches and candles and not much sleep - in addition to jet lag . Keeping this travel blog enables me to reflect and record my journeys as well as communicate with my family and friends. As you said, Belgium and Netherlands are two countries many people don't realize you can travel in. We saw bits and pieces of Belgium a few years ago and we are just waiting for a good chance to go back. We'd also love to see more of Netherlands. So far we've only seen Amsterdam. /Ake
