Remember the Malvinas war? Argentina's military dictatorship declared war on Britain in 1982. They lost. From the Chronicle of the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) History & the Falklands War of 1982: "Argentina's defeat in the war severely discredited the military dictatorship who started the war, and led to the restoration of democratic, civilian rule in Argentina in 1983."
