Life Along The Riverside

There were many opportunities on the boat ride to witness people carrying on with their daily lives, washing clothes, bathing, cooking, working, and so on. Once the boat came in to shore, and food vendors walked out to the boat in the water to sell their items. I bought a few bananas that time. The process went like this: I get tossed a bunch of bananas, we negotiate a price, then I toss back the fee. A win win.
The Fields of Bagan

We made our way from Mandalay to Bagan winding down the Irawaddy River for twelve hours on a triple decker river boat. It wasn't a luxury liner, but it was clean, comfortable, and more than adequate, with a cafeteria, airplane style seating area, and three sun decks.
