Mount Rushmore - July 2, 2016

July 2 is ACTUALLY the day the Continental Congress decided to adopt independence from Great Britain, so it was a fitting day to be at Mount Rushmore and see Thomas Jefferson.

We left Devil's Tower and drove through the Black Hills of South Dakota while it was still early. We wanted to do the easy family hike at the Jewel Cave, but, when we arrived, we found out that all the tour times were booked up.
