Flowered balconies

The streets in more central part of the old city were lined with two and three story buildings, most with balconies dripping with bougainvillea. I loved how many also displayed Colombian and Cartagenian flags.

The heat, the humidity, the narrow streets, the palm trees and the beach: this is what I was looking forward to, a much needed break from the short days and rain in Seattle.
