October 17th 2015 Back in 1994, only 62,000 tourists visited Burma, including business travelers. The number went up by 2004, to 202,000 tourists. All of a sudden in 2014, the number has grown exponentially to 3.05 million tourists, who spent $1.14 billion USD here. Though 61% of Burma's tourists come from Asia, the number of Americans seeking to experience a "lost" country and culture is also growing.
