The exchange rate was pretty ridiculous. I think we got stuck with around four hundred 5000 dong notes, each worth around 70 cents. Felt like a big man carrying that wad around

We arrived in Luang Prabang in Laos by plane from Vietnam late in December. The flight into Laos seemed much easier than the alternative day long bus trip.
