Road fom Chiquimula to Coban, Guatemala

In Guatemala I avoided Guatemala City and Antigua and rode through the hill to Mexico. Had been thinking about going north into the jungle and going to the ruins at Tikal but changed my mind at the last moment (read that it might be difficult to get a Tourist Card for Mexico at the jungle river crossings).

Huehuetenango sounds like an Abba song. It is a town in western Guatemala. I arrive after three days of crawling up and down a rugged mountain range known as the Sierra de Los Cuchumaines.
