View from the balcony down B-dul Unirii. Ceaușescu assumed that he'd address the people from this balcony but his despotic ways came to an end before he was able to indulge his fantasy. Ultimately, Michael Jackson was the first person to address the crowds from here.

As I’m writing this it’s Orthodox Easter Saturday evening in Bucharest and we’re waiting until 11:45 pm to go and visit Oana’s aunt and cousins in their nearby apartment and then participate in the 30-minute midnight Easter mass at the little church across the road.
