The Glass Viewing Balcony

As a slap at the supposedly utilitarian architecture of Albert Speer, the designer of the new Documentation Center housed inside this section of the Kongresshall decided to add frivolous, open structures to distract from the Nazis' obsession with functionality. I didn't really see how it accomplished that. The exhibit was well-worth our time and very informative, but I really wouldn't have even thought about the modern additions unless I had read about them.
