A perfect pace!
Oh that lovely time beyond time that's rooted in the present. How lovely your Istanbul friend cancelled, leaving you to meander, wander and wonder and hang out with people like Mehmet. One of those times when a seeming negative turns into something better than imagined--a taste of India in Turkey, indeed. Like you, I'm a vegetarian who generally fixes salads in my room, but sometimes with friends traveling, we just have to be flexible. I'm sure the animals forgive us. Good luck with your visa.
