Day 7 - Siem Reap - Angkor Wat

January 5th 2007
The original plan was to leave at 6am and catch the sunrise over the Angkor Wat temple… but our guide suggested 730 (which sounded much more civil) so no one complained. We all slather ourselved in DEET (yep - still successfully fighting off mosquitos) and head off with our driver and the tour guide Vong who will show us the temples at Angkor Wat today. A few years ago I stepped back, took a look at my life and realized I wanted to broaden my horizons...what better way to do this than through travel?? Along with some very good friends, I've since traveled to Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico.. but this blog will start with our biggest trip yet.. a monthlong jaunt through Southeast Asia. Feel free to tag along as we bumble our way through big cities, small villages, jungles, a plethora of temples and of course..12 days on a luxury catamaran.. I can't wait!!
