Day 7 - Siem Reap - Angkor Wat

The original plan was to leave at 6am and catch the sunrise over the Angkor Wat temple… but our guide suggested 730 (which sounded much more civil) so no one complained. We all slather ourselved in DEET (yep - still successfully fighting off mosquitos) and head off with our driver and the tour guide Vong who will show us the temples at Angkor Wat today.

Not a lot to tell here - other than how incredible these temples and the whole complex are. The real stories are in the pictures. Its very inspiring visiting temples that were built over 5 and 6 centuries ago. To even try to imagine what inspiration drove the people who designed and built these temples just baffles me. I won’t bore you with words.. pics will tell the tales … once I figure out how to upload them of course!!!!
