It is pretty amazing that the famous artist Fernando Botero donated 23 statues in this park - as well as works in the local Museo de Antioquia - to bring up the standard of this previously poor neighbourhood

On my way south I stopped for a couple of days in the idyllic backwater of Mompos - a Unesco World Heritage site full of beautiful colonial merchant houses and churches along the Rio Grande de la Magdalena.
